Registration is now open for Adult & Community Education Spring 2025 classes

The New Hartford Central School District is committed to the community’s health and wellness and is excited to once again offer Adult & Community Education.

Registration is now open for spring 2025 classes. Registration is done exclusively online through HomeTown Ticketing.

The class offerings listed below are for adults only and New Hartford residents get first preference.

When schools are closed due to inclement weather or other emergencies, all adult education classes are canceled. Instructors will notify participants of class cancellations via email or phone. All classes are subject to cancellation due to insufficient enrollment.

Gold Card Members (New Hartford residents 60 years and older) can enroll for free, but must be on record as registering for Gold Card Status. Please call Kim Schweitzer at 315-624-1218 to obtain a Gold Card.

Men’s Basketball – Mondays

Location: Myles Elementary School gym
Special Notes: Please have separate sneakers for the gym.

Co-Ed Soccer

Location: Hughes Elementary School gym
Special Notes: For all adults interested in playing indoor soccer. Join us for a fast-paced, fun workout. Soccer skills are helpful, but not necessary. Shin guards are optional, but water is a must.

Yoga Calm

Location: Bradley Elementary School gym
Special Notes: Warm-up, core strengthening, flow of postures, offering yoga philosophy and wisdom teachings to calm the mind, body and spirit. Please bring a yoga mat.

A Water Workout

Facilitator/Instructor: Elaine Hage
Days: January 2025 – Tuesdays and Thursdays – Jan. 7 to Jan. 30.
No February classes.
March-April 2025 – Tuesdays – March 18, March 25, April 1, April 8.
Time: 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Cost: $50
Location: Perry Junior High School pool
Special Notes: This class is designed to safely exercise all your muscle groups using fitness components to include: flexibility, core strength, resistance and balance while moving aerobically to music. Elements of dance, yoga and fun are weaved into this waist high, water workout. All this without getting your hair wet. Water shoes required.

LaBlast®

Special Notes: LaBlast® Fitness is a partner-free dance fitness workout created by world-renowned dancer and fitness expert Louis van Amstel (as seen on Dancing with the Stars). It’s accessible for all levels – from the absolute beginner to the experienced dancer. LaBlast® takes you through a diverse mix of famous ballroom dances set to your favorite music; everything from pop and rock to hip-hop and country. Experience the full array of dance styles from jive to foxtrot and Viennese waltz to Lindy Hop. Whether you want to tone your body, maintain a healthy lifestyle, learn to dance, or just have a great time, LaBlast® offers something for everyone.

Water Games

Location: Perry Junior High School pool
Special Notes: Come and join us for a fun water workout with games! Participants will play various games each week, including water basketball, polo, and volleyball. The class favorite has been volleyball. We will also use noodles for races and beach balls for other activities. The last 15 minutes of class will be devoted to lap swimming.
