ParentSquare Community Group

The New Hartford Central School District uses ParentSquare as its primary platform for school communication and community members are invited to join.

New Hartford CSD Community Group on ParentSquare is for members of the community who do not have students active in the district, but would still like to receive district notifications.

Current staff and parents/guardians do not need to sign-up for New Hartford CSD Community Group.

Community members who register will be able to:

  • Receive district communication via email, text or app notification
  • Manage notification settings
  • Communicate in their preferred language

ParentSquare can be accessed via parentsquare.com or the ParentSquare app, which is a free download for iOS and Android users.

To join New Hartford CSD Community Group in ParentSquare:

  1. Go to NHCSD Community Groups sign-up page
  2. Enter your first and last name and email address
  3. Select “New Hartford CSD Community Group” and then click “Submit”
  4. You will receive an email from ParentSquare with instructions to complete your registration

One of the many benefits of creating a ParentSquare account is the ability to manage your notification settings. We want your ParentSquare notifications to come to you when and where you want them. Users can set their preferences to either Instant or Digest for email, text messages and the app. Instant users will receive a notification the minute a message is posted. Digest users will receive one daily notification at 6 p.m. containing all messages posted that day.

To update your notification settings in the ParentSquare app:

  1. Sign in to your ParentSquare account
  2. Click the triple bar on the top left corner
  3. Select “Account” on the menu on the left hand side
  4. Click on “Notifications” on the menu in the middle
  5. Choose how and when you want to be notified

To update your notification settings on the ParentSquare website:

  • Sign in to your ParentSquare account
  • Click the drop down arrow next to your name on the upper right hand corner
  • Select “My Account”
  • Click “Notification Setting” on the menu on the left hand side
  • Choose how and when you want to be notified

Instant and Digest notifications apply to general announcements and messages such as announcements, direct messages and reminders. In instances when the district needs to communicate an urgent message, a notification will be sent immediately, regardless of the user’s preferences.

Support resources are available to you at any time. You can always click on the question mark on the upper right hand corner of the ParentSquare website or click on the “Help” tab (click the triple bar on the top left corner) in the ParentSquare app.

Our goal is to provide members of the community with a platform that encourages greater engagement with the New Hartford school community while keeping you informed in a way that is convenient to you.
