Observance of holidays during the 2024-25 school year

Dear faculty, staff and parents,

As we close out the school year, the New Hartford Central School District is beginning preparations for the 2024-25 school year, including the coordination of district and school building events and activities.

In an effort to assist with planning for important calendar dates, while also ensuring inclusive practices, please note that the district acknowledges the following holidays:

  • Rosh Hashanah
  • Yom Kippur
  • Diwali
  • Eid al-Fitr

In observance of Rosh Hashanah:

  • School activities will not be permitted after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024.
  • Practices, concerts, athletic contests, picture days, field trips, new instruction, assigned projects and testing will not be permitted Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024.
  • Practices, concerts, athletic contests, picture days, field trips, new instruction, assigned projects and testing may resume Friday, Oct. 4, 2024.

In observance of Yom Kippur:

  • School activities will not be permitted after 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024.
  • School activities may resume after 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024.

In observance of Diwali:

  • Practices, concerts, athletic contests, picture days, field trips, new instruction, assigned projects and testing will not be permitted Friday, Nov. 1, 2024.
  • School activities may resume Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024.

In observance of Eid al-Fitr:

  • School activities will not be permitted after 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
  • Practices, concerts, athletic contests, picture days, field trips, new instruction, assigned projects and testing may resume after 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025.
