Zoe Mortensen received a Jurors Choice Award for her acrylic painting on canvas, titled Sunset Driving. She created the award-winning piece in painting class at the high school last year.

The Sidewalk Art Show is hosted by Muson, the fine arts center in Utica. It is a juried, week-long art exhibition with works in five categories: watercolor; works on paper; photography; sculpture; and oil, acrylic, and mixed media. According to Muson, the show is the centerpiece of the Munson Arts Festival, the area’s longest-running summertime celebration of arts and community.

The Jurors Choice Awards are awarded to the artworks the jurors believe are most worthy, regardless of age category and media. This year, 20 individuals earned the distinction.
