Renovations complete in nearly half of Perry’s classrooms as capital project work progresses

April 8, 2025

Eight more newly-renovated learning spaces have opened to Perry Junior High School students.

Construction was most recently completed in six general education classrooms, an English Language Learner classroom and a recording studio for students enrolled in Computer Applications. Faculty spaces, including restrooms and the copy room, have also reopened following renovations.

The modernized student spaces feature new ceilings, floors, paint, energy-efficient LED lighting, energy-efficient HVAC/exhaust systems, data lines and jacks, and clocks with integrated public address system speakers.

Since construction began in July 2024, 23 of the 51 classrooms at Perry have been renovated as part of Phase 1 of the Health, Energy Efficiency & Academics Capital Project.

By the end of June 2025, the district expects renovations to be completed in four more classrooms, the faculty room, nurse’s suite, and Life Skills course classrooms.

Most of the construction, which will include renovating every classroom at Perry, is expected to be completed by the end of February 2026.
