The New Hartford Senior High School pool is expected to open by Aug. 19 following the completion of facility improvement work. Work started on July 22 to address safety updates and facility maintenance.
- Approximately 900 feet of stainless steel hanger wire was installed to secure the entire ceiling structure, including along the wall
- Holes in the ceiling have been repaired
- Corroded hangers along the wall angle above the locker room and pool have been fixed
- New ceiling tiles were installed where tiles were damaged
- Light fixtures have all been reconnected to the beams and supported with the new hanger wire
After work is completed and before the pool can be opened, the protective plastic on the pool will be removed, and custodial staff will thoroughly clean the pool, locker rooms and bathrooms.
The pool will be open for the start of the girls varsity swimming and diving season, which begins Aug. 26.
