District to conduct student climate survey the week of June 10

June 7, 2024

New Hartford Central School District students in grades 7-12 will have the opportunity to participate in a confidential survey to gauge students’ perceptions of the school climate.

During the week of June 10, participating students will respond to questions, provided by the National Center for Education Statistics, that prompt them to evaluate their perspective of school engagement, safety and environment.

Students are encouraged, but not required, to participate in the survey. Responses are confidential and anonymous.

The survey will be administered during students’ regularly scheduled physical education classes and take approximately 20-25 minutes to complete. A link to access the survey will be sent to students’ school email accounts.

The survey will help district administrators evaluate the school environment, which is one of the priority area initiatives of the district’s 2023-28 Strategic Plan. District administrators will review the survey results during the summer and use the data to inform decision-making for the 2024-25 school year.

To request a sample copy of the survey questions or to opt-out, please contact your building’s main office.
