The artistic talent of nine Myles Elementary School students was recognized by Music K-8 magazine, a publication for K-8 music educators.
Each year, the magazine hosts its Cover Contest. Students in grades K-8 may submit a self-created drawing, painting or computer-generated artwork that is music-themed for a chance to win $250 and be featured on the cover of the magazine’s May/June issue.
More than 500 students from across the country submitted entries.
Sixth-grade Myles Elementary student Kameryn Moss was named a 5th Runner-Up for her drawing of a Spartan drummer. Her drawing was featured in the magazine and she received a $40 award.
Eight other Myles students received honors:
- Lilah Haddad (grade 6) – Finalist
- Natalia Mroczek (grade 6) – Top Finalist
- Ava Price (grade 4) – Most Humorous Honorable Mention
- Madelyn Scerbo (grade 6) – Honorable Mention
- Hannah Schilling (grade 6) – Finalist
- Evelynn Taylor (grade 5) – Most Humorous Finalist
- Carleigh Ward (grade 4) – Honorable Mention
- Raegan Ward (grade 5) – Most Humorous Finalist
